Before booking a treatment, it's essential to review any contraindications to ensure the treatment is suitable for you.
At Lomé Beauty Studios, we use high-quality ingredients designed for sensitive skin. However, while we strive to minimize any risk of reaction, we cannot guarantee it. Please inform us of any allergies, sensitivities, or medications you’ve taken in the past six months to prevent potential interactions.If you'd like, we can arrange a test patch 72 hours before your appointment to ensure compatibility.
To ensure the safety and effectiveness of your Lash Lifts, Brow Lifts and Facial treatments, please review the following contraindications:
Lash & Brow Treatment Contraindications

A Lash and Brow Lift cannot be performed if you have:
Flu, flu-like symptoms, or fever
Active inflamed or pustular acne in the treatment area
Hordeola, Styes, Pink Eye or any small puss/abscess on the eyelid
Cysts on upper or lower eyelids
Active cancer or undergoing any cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation)
Any active infection (fungal or bacterial)
Weak eyelashes due to over-styling or product use, as determined during the consultation.
Lupus
Epilepsy
Herpes Simplex, active cold sores, or open sores
Photosensitivity, recent sunburn, or rash on the face
Rosacea, Psoriasis, Eczema, or irritated skin
Recent trauma, abrasions, cuts, swelling, burns, or bleeding
Recent surgeries or scar tissue around the eyes, head, or face
Skin disorders in the area (e.g., Dermatitis, Xanthelasma & Syringoma)
Bells Palsy or difficulty closing the eyes
Any condition causing twitching, shaking, or erratic movements
Eye infections (e.g., Conjunctivitis, Impetigo)
Blepharitis, Uveitis, Keratitis or any chronic eye or eyelid inflammation
Watery eyes, Dry Eye Syndrome, or itchy eyes
Alopecia (loss of hair)
Trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder)
Hypersensitive skin or eyes
Head lice
Claustrophobia
Broken facial bones in treatment area
Back pain, head/neck injuries, or difficulty laying on back

If you have used any of the following products within the past 5-7 days, we recommend postponing your treatment:
Acne medications (including Benzoyl Peroxide)
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (e.g., Glycolic, Lactic)
Salicylic Acid products (including willow bark)
Retinoids (e.g., Retin A, Renova, Differin)
Acid-based products or enzyme peels
Oral or topical antibiotics

Please wait the following times before your treatment:
1 month after any chemical peel, laser resurfacing, microneedling, hydradermabrasion, or microdermabrasion
1 week after removal of lash extensions
6 weeks after permanent makeup application

The following contraindications might still mean that the treatment can be performed; however, we require and recommend obtaining a doctor's referral and medical advice before proceeding.
Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals:

Claustrophobia: Clients must keep their eyes closed during the treatment.
Hayfever/Rhinitis: Symptoms may cause watery eyes during the treatment.
Contact Lenses: Please remove them before the treatment.

Hormonal changes (e.g., pregnancy, birth control, hormonal therapy, antibiotics) can impact treatment results. Proper adherence to pre-care and aftercare protocols is crucial for maintaining optimal results.

Facial Treatment Contraindications

A facial treatment cannot be performed if you have:
Flu, flu-like symptoms, or fever
Active and inflamed acne or pustular acne
Active rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, skin rashes, irritated, dry, or flaking skin
Recent trauma, abrasions, cuts, swelling, burns, or facial bleeding
Skin disorders in the treatment area (e.g., dermatitis, xanthelasma)
Skin infections
Recent cosmetic procedures or operations on the face or head
Recent scar tissue on the face (must be fully healed)
Recent chemical peel, laser resurfacing, microneedling, hydradermabrasion, or microdermabrasion (within 1 month)
Recent lash and brow lift treatment (must wait 48 hours)
Recent antibiotic use (within 1 week)
Active cancer or undergoing cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation)
Autoimmune diseases (e.g., Diabetes, Epilepsy, Lupus)
Photophobia or hypersensitivity to light ("photo-allergy")
Photosensitivity (sunlight allergy)
Thyroid gland disease
Lymphatic system disorders
Herpes Simplex, active cold sores, or open sores
Acute inflammation or hypersensitive skin
High blood pressure, blood disorders, or heart disorders
Unhealed bruises or easy bruising
Allergic reaction to specific ingredients (please check with us before booking)
Hemorrhagic disease, trauma, or vascular rupture
Inflammation of the veins, phlebitis, weak or broken vessels/capillaries
Increased bleeding of gums or tooth abscess (for intraoral treatment)
Braces (for intraoral treatment)
Transmissible diseases or active infections (fungal or bacterial)
Recent permanent makeup (must wait 6 weeks)
Cysts, stye, or pink eye
Red, itchy, or infected eyes (e.g., conjunctivitis, impetigo)
Head lice
Claustrophobia
Broken jaw or other facial bones
Back pain, head/neck injuries, or difficulty laying on back

If you have used or experienced any of the following within the past 5-7 days, we recommend postponing your treatment:
Recent facial treatments, laser treatments, or electrolysis
Fillers or BOTOX (wait at least 1 month)
Acne medications (including Benzoyl Peroxide), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic), salicylic acid products (including willow bark), Retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac), any acid-based products, enzyme peels, oral or topical antibiotics
Accutane (must be off for a minimum of 6 months)
Sun exposure, sunburn, or facial rash
Facial waxing or tweezing (wait 72 hours)
Recent consumption of stimulants such as alcohol and caffeine (wait at least 24 hours)

Hormonal changes, smoking, rosacea, blood thinners, diabetes, phlebitis, exfoliating products, caffeine, prolonged sun exposure, and photosensitizing medication (antifungals, antihistamines, antibiotics, Accutane)
Not applying sunscreen daily, smoking, unhealthy diet/nutrition (alcohol, dairy, and sugar can negatively affect the skin), and inadequate water intake
Not following pre-care and aftercare protocols properly
